Paul Quinn Handles UNT Dallas 60–53 Behind McCallum’s 21 Points
DALLAS — Nov. 17, 2025 — Isaiah McCallum scored a game-high 21 points and Paul Quinn held off UNT Dallas 60–53 on Monday night at the Tiger Activity Center, snapping a two-game skid and improving to 2–4 on the season.
Paul Quinn built a 33–26 halftime lead behind efficient interior scoring and ball movement, then maintained control throughout a defensive second half in which both teams struggled to generate rhythm.
McCallum shot 9 of 15 from the field and added six rebounds, while senior guard Rashod Ballard filled the stat sheet with 11 points, eight assists, six rebounds and four steals. The Tigers shot 42.1 percent from the floor and committed just 12 turnovers, matching their second-lowest total of the season.
Mekhi Johnson added six points, six rebounds and three blocks, and John Harrison provided a lift off the bench with five points and two steals.
UNT Dallas (1–3) was led by Demaryon Thornton's 15 points on 6-for-12 shooting. Keylyn Sanders scored 12 points off the bench, and Greg Crawford contributed seven points and nine rebounds. The Trailblazers struggled from deep, finishing 5 for 23 (21.7 percent), and shot just 52.6 percent from the free-throw line.
Paul Quinn controlled the glass 34–41 overall and outscored UNT Dallas 36–22 in the paint. Despite the Trailblazers closing within five late, McCallum answered with consecutive drives to keep the Tigers in front for good.
Paul Quinn returns to action later this week looking to build on its most balanced team performance of the early season.
